Neville Morgan has delivered Barista Courses to our senior students over the last six years. In my opinion he offers the most comprehensive instruction available and I would recommend him unreservedly. He has a wonderful way with young people and shows great empathy. The students appreciate his patience and tolerance. Some find it easier than others but Neville’s humour and encouragement lifts the spirits of those for whom this doesn’t come naturally.
Neville is passionate about coffee-making and keeps up to date by attending International Barista Competitions throughout the world. He has unquestionable integrity and has a very high level of professionalism in all that he does.

As I have retired this month from many years of teaching Hospitality at Katikati College. I would like to take this opportunity to “Shout Out” about our fabulous Barista Man Neville. He has been amazing over the past 5 or 6 years he has worked with the level2 & 3 students of Katikati College. His infinate patience with all students and his willingness to go the extra mile is why we bring him back each year. He deals so well with all those things that happen in a school that throw your planning into dissaray and keeps focussed on the students success.
Many thanks to Neville and the Espresso Team from myself and all those students who have been successful and grown in confidence because of your hard work and care for others.

I can highly recommended Neville Morgan as a one on one barista trainer. I recently received funding for someone I support to upskill as a barista. Not only was Neville extremely enthusiastic but he was patient and understanding of their particular needs. Throughout the course my client was himself enthused and keen to learn more. Neville is highly skilled and knowledgeable about all aspects of the coffee trade and barista work. I would not fail to recommend Neville to anyone wanting to find a caring and considerate trainer.

I have owned and managed The Red Rose Café since 2007. Prior to that I was a teacher for thirty years with experience at intermediate, secondary and tertiary levels. I first met Neville when he became the local agent for a leading Auckland roastery. Neville quickly demonstrated  his very thorough understanding of our needs and those of the market. He has an encyclopaedic knowledge of coffee and cafés and excellent people-skills enabling him to pass that on. We asked him at the outset to train our whole crew so that every staff member understood the theory behind coffee-making as well being able to produce good servings. In some cases this meant overcoming ingrained bad habits and Neville’s humour and empathy were crucial in enabling people to accept change. Since then he has continued training new staff as they join us and periodically we ask him to refresh skills within the established team. His demonstrations and explanations are clear, succinct, well-structured and tightly-focussed on trainees’ needs. As an experienced educator myself I appreciate his methods and results; as a businessman I am grateful for the value his visits add in terms of customer satisfaction and staff morale. Having gone through barista training with two other organizations I would rate Neville’s teaching and assessment abilities as streets ahead of most instructors, including those I worked with in tertiary institutions.

Over the last 4 years Neville Morgan has been engaged to provide us with regular barista training for our staff and ongoing coffee machine maintenance. We would thoroughly recommend Neville as a highly skilled barista trainer. As part of the training he has explained how to correctly use and adjust the grinder and espresso machine. He has also introduced us to the latest techniques of extraction, milk texturing and coffee presentation. This has ensured that we have been able to maintain our high standard of coffee service and enhance our position as one of the Mounts leading cafes.

Neville Morgan has worked with us in our busy café in the Tauranga CBD. He has helped our staff to better understand the correct use of our espresso equipment and conducted many training sessions to pass on his knowledge of coffee making and machine maintenance. This has enabled us to maintain consistency and a high standard of coffee for our customers.
